Project WILD & Project Learning Tree Workshops

The NEW Zoo is pleased to announce that we will be hosting two TEACHER WORKSHOPS, to be held on February 1st and February 8th, for educators!
The workshop sessions will begin at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm each day. A break for lunch will be provided. Participants should bring their own lunch or be prepared to purchase at the Mayan Taste of the Tropics Restaurant on-site. Educators should register for the program date that corresponds to the age of the students that you teach. Dates and prices are as follows:
Saturday February 1st Project WILD & Project Learning Tree Workshops
For k – 12 educators. Cost is $75.
Saturday February 8th Early Childhood Project Learning Tree Workshop
For early childhood educators. Cost is $70.
Project WILDis a wildlife-focused conservation education program for K-12 educators and their students. Project WILD is one of the most widely-used conservation and environmental education programs among educators of students in kindergarten through high school. It is based on the premise that young people and educators have a vital interest in learning about our natural world. A national network of State Wildlife Agency Sponsors ensures that Project WILD is available nationwide and is training educators in the many facets of the program. Emphasizing wildlife because of its intrinsic value, Project WILD addresses the need for human beings to develop as responsible citizens of our planet.
Project Learning Treeeducator workshops are open to anyone. These workshops are designed to help you:
- Learn how to incorporate PLT activities into your current and future lesson plans and programming.
- Meet other local professionals interested or already involved in environmental education.
- Become part of a network that offers you follow-up resources and opportunities.
- Learn about environmental education.
