Treat dad to a WILD experience this Father’s Day: Come out to the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park, where all fathers receive free admission to the NEW Zoo on their special day!
“Heart Bound Greyhound Adoption” will be on-site to meet with visitors at the front of the Visitor Center, near the entrance to the Zoo, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This dog adoption organization serves East-Central Wisconsin and will have live retired racing greyhounds for you to meet. The group strives to place greyhounds in loving homes and to educate the public about the attributes and needs of the unique greyhound breed.
Witness Abner, the Trumpeter Swan, display his parenting skills! The father of 8 cygnets hatched on 6/1/16 shares equal responsibility with his mate in raising their brood. Swan parenting includes lessons on where to find food and how to avoid danger. The cygnets raised by their parents at the NEW Zoo are eventually reintroduced into the wild and are helping to save their species from extinction. Several of the swans raised here are now an integral part of the Midwestern wild breeding population.
While you’re at the zoo, don’t forget to feed the giraffes! Hodari and Zuri will be available at the Giraffe Feeding Experience from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
It’s half-price zips for all dads at the Adventure Park on Father’s Day, too. Race your dad to the bottom and create some lasting memories!
