Now that the summer season is upon us, the NEW Zoo is offering a host of fun, educational programs on-site, including some NEW Behind-the-Scenes Experiences! In addition to the daily schedule of programs, we’ll also be offering a variety of other informal “pop-up” experiences, like Animal Encounters and Touch Carts, near the Education & Conservation Building throughout the summer.
Join Zoo Director Neil Anderson for an all-you-can-eat, made-to-order breakfast at the NEW Zoo! Breakfast includes gourmet pancakes with real butter and maple syrup, bacon, sausages, fruit juice, and fresh coffee. Breakfast is made and served in an open-air tent in a special off-limits area within the Zoo. Meet our African penguins under the tent while enjoying breakfast, and after eating, you will enjoy a special penguin habitat tour and a photo opp with the penguins. All ages are welcome; kids under 3 are FREE with an adult ticket holder. Ticket includes admission into the zoo after program ends.
Also new this summer: our conservation-fundraising programs, “Art for Animals!” These programs get you up-close with a critter while also creating a canvas painting featuring one of our animals. These evening programs are for anyone aged 16+, no painting experience necessary! Our talented artist will lead you through the painting process. Get the details here.
And finally, the NEW Zoo has partnered with NE Wisconsin’s #1 Segway tour provider; Glide NEW LLC! Guided Segway tours of the NEW Zoo and the adjoining Trout Trail are available for booking right now. Just go to www.glidenew.com for details and to book your tour. Tours are currently offered 4 days a week in the afternoon and evening. NEW Zoo members will also get a 15% discount off of all of the Glide NEW tours whether on Zoo property or anywhere they are offered in NE Wisconsin.
We look forward to seeing you out at the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park soon!
