Winter Equipment Rentals Now Available

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is ready for winter fun! Through a new partnership with Pete’s Garage, outdoor enthusiasts can now rent both cross-country skis and snowshoes from the Adventure Park. These new rentals are in addition to the fat bike rentals that are also available – which means individuals can now explore the 1,600 acres of the Reforestation Camp like never before. Over 19 miles of cross-country ski trails, six miles of fat tire bike trails, and two miles of snowshoe trails are maintained by the Brown County Parks Department, all of which recently opened for the season!

“Our rental program is a great way for people to try out a new, outdoor winter activity, without having to purchase your own (often expensive!) equipment,” says Zoo Director Carmen Murach. “Getting out into nature can be so relaxing, and the Reforestation Camp is beautiful this time of year. Adults and children alike can enjoy it. Whether you prefer a stroll through the Zoo, a walk on the Canopy Tour, or are looking for a more exhilarating experience out on the trails, we’ve got you covered.”

The Adventure Park is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. except on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A variety of ski and snowshoe sizes are available, fitting most individuals aged four and up. Fat tire bikes are best suited for ages 10 and up. To participate, renters must meet all posted requirements, have a valid trail pass where applicable (available for purchase at the Base Camp Building or at automated pay stations at ski trailheads), and have a waiver on file with the Adventure Park. Reservations for winter equipment can be made online or in person at the Base Camp Building. Guests can also purchase tickets for the Neil Anderson Canopy Tour – another fun, family-friendly outdoor activity! – online or in person at the Adventure Park.
