The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park and the Green Bay chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) invite you to join us for World Otter Day! There are 13 species of otters in the world, several of which are endangered and need our help. Join us as we celebrate all otters on Saturday, June 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
During our World Otter Day event, visitors can learn more about all 13 species of otters while visiting our resident North American River Otters at the zoo. There will be children’s activities and opportunities to learn about saving the otters that call our region home. Learn more about our resident otters during our daily “Otter Exhibit Chat” and watch as they interact with a special enrichment activity.
In addition to educational information about otters, there will be animal-themed crafts for sale to raise funds for the International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF). All the crafts are made by members of the Green Bay chapter of AAZK and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to IOSF. In addition, check out the zoo’s gift shop where all otter-themed merchandise will be 10% off.
The International Otter Survival Fund is a non-profit organization that is committed to the conservation of wild otters and their habitat. Working with communities throughout the world, they educate, inform, and encourage the protection and conservation of otters. The IOSF is the world’s foremost authority on otter behavior, habitat, and conservation. Learn more about them at www.otter.org.
