2 min read

Spring Hours are back at the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park! Starting Wednesday, April 1st, the NEW Zoo will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the Neil Anderson Canopy Tour will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the final tour departing at 4:30 p.m. The Giraffe Feeding Experience hours will extend to 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, as well. The Adventure Park remains closed until Memorial Day weekend.

Spring is a great time of year to visit the Zoo. The animals are often active, enjoying the extra sunlight and warmer temperatures just as much as we humans do. Guests should keep their eyes peeled for the zoo’s newest resident: a baby cotton-top tamarin! Parents Gio and Aquila are doing great with the infant, and older sister, Ponchita, has been helping, too. Cotton-top tamarins work together as family groups to care for their babies, as the infants require constant attention and carrying for the first month before they start to slowly explore on their own. The species is critically endangered, so every baby born makes a difference.

As you’re planning your next visit, consider booking an Animal Feeding Experience with the penguins or the otters, or book a private Wild Encounter! Our Encounters can get you an up-close and personal experience with a variety of animals from snakes and lizards to penguins and snow leopards, and even giraffes and giant tortoises. Reservations are available now through the end of May.
