Treat dad to a WILD experience this Father’s Day: Come out to the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park, where all fathers receive free admission to the NEW Zoo on their special day!
“Heart Bound Greyhound Adoption” will be on-site to meet with visitors at the front of the Visitor Center, near the entrance to the Zoo, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This dog adoption organization serves East-Central Wisconsin and will have live retired racing greyhounds for you to meet. The group strives to place greyhounds in loving homes and to educate the public about the attributes and needs of the unique greyhound breed.
Witness Abner, the Trumpeter Swan, display his parenting skills! The father of 8 cygnets hatched on 6/1/16 shares equal responsibility with his mate in raising their brood. Swan parenting includes lessons on where to find food and how to avoid danger. The cygnets raised by their parents at the NEW Zoo are eventually reintroduced into the wild and are helping to save their species from extinction. Several of the swans raised here are now an integral part of the Midwestern wild breeding population.
While you’re at the zoo, don’t forget to feed the giraffes! Hodari and Zuri will be available at the Giraffe Feeding Experience from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
It’s half-price zips for all dads at the Adventure Park on Father’s Day, too. Race your dad to the bottom and create some lasting memories!
The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park, along with the N.E.W Zoological Society, is hosting a fundraising event for conservation at the NEW Zoo on Thursday evening, June 16th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Designated Driver tickets are $25 and Beer Tasting Drink tickets sell for only $35. Tickets can be purchased as of June 1 at Festival Foods: Suamico, East, West and DePere, as well as in the NEW Zoo Gift Shop.
There will be 17 local and regional breweries on hand featuring numerous craft beer, cider and non-alcoholic drinks.
Guests can sample: Stillmank, Badger State, Titletown, Hinterland, New Glarus, Lakefront, Bell’s, Upper Hand, Dogfish Head, Blue Moon, Sam Adams (Lump Angry, Traveler, and Coney), Sierra Nevada, Ballast Point, Blackrocks, Short’s, Sprecher Sodas and Point Sodas
Every attendee will get a pretzel necklace, a 6 oz. logo’d limited edition Brew at the Zoo tasting glass, and the opportunity to taste the many selections. We’ll also have a DJ and picnic style food for sale. Uber will provide free rides home (up to $20 value) for any first time Uber users.
This is a limited-ticket event with only 1200 tickets available for sale – so buy your tickets early! No one under 21 will be allowed inside the Zoo during the event – including underage children of adults who are present. Leave the kids at home and consider this your date night!
The Neville Public Museum will also be on-site with fun, historical facts on beer-brewing in Wisconsin, along with actual beer- and soda-brewing systems fired up and working. You’ll have a chance to taste and see how much fun brewing your own beer and soda can be! They’ll also be brewing some Door County cherry soda – a local tasty treat to say the least.

AZA-accredited institutions, like the NEW Zoo, are already investing over $160 million annually towards conservation to help save animals in the wild. We at the New Zoo and Adventure Park are pleased to support this very important animal-saving endeavor.

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park, in partnership with the Howard-Suamico Education Foundation, is pleased to announce the hosting of a brand new, family-friendly event:
The Sweet Safari for Education: A Wild Artistic Adventure
This event will be held on Thursday, May 12th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Sweet Safari will feature free samples of “sweet treats” from a variety of local vendors and restaurants. While guests make their way through the zoo to enjoy these tasty treats, they can also participate in several other fun activities, including children’s games, live animal encounters, free carousel rides, and more. A bounce house and inflatable obstacle course will be available, weather permitting, and a special art show, featuring over 150 pieces of artwork from Howard-Suamico School District students, will be on display, too. These works of art will feature endangered species, including species found at the NEW Zoo!
Advance tickets are available at several local Festival Foods locations: De Pere, Green Bay East, Green Bay West, and Suamico; at the Suamico Citgo; at the Howard-Suamico School District Office; and at the NEW Zoo’s Visitor Center building. Tickets for the event are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Children under 2 will be free. Zoo Pass Members: Please note that Zoo Passes will not be valid for entry to this event. Tickets must be purchased for entry.

Throughout the day, animals will have a chance to open “special birthday treats” made just for them! At the NEW Zoo, we are honoring all veteran and active-duty military members and their immediate families with free admission on November 11th. The zoo will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with doors closing at 3:30 p.m. Veterans and military members are welcome to join us anytime during our open hours of operation that day. Don’t forget to feed the giraffes! Hodari and Zuri will be available for feeding encounters from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Although the weather has cooled down, the animals remain active this time of year, so it’s a great time for a visit.
The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is pleased to once again announce North Shore Bank as the title sponsor for our annual Halloween event: North Shore Bank Zoo Boo 2015.
Tickets for North Shore Bank Zoo Boo will be available for purchase at several locations around Northeastern Wisconsin starting Saturday, September 26th. Save money by purchasing tickets advance tickets for the special price of $8.00 per person. Tickets at the gate will be $10.00 per person. (Children 1 and under are free). Everyone is encouraged to come in costume and kids 12 and under can trick-or-treat throughout the NEW Zoo. Don’t forget your treat bags! The Zoo will be filled with festive Halloween decorations, two giant inflatables, a Children’s Maze, live Swamp Monsters, and for the brave: a horse-drawn, haunted wagon ride through our ‘Freaky Forest’ during the first two weekends of the event. Special Moments DJ will also be on hand to rock the night away.

The Adventure Park is also getting into the Halloween Spirit with special GLOW ZIPS during the Zoo Boo event!
From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on all Zoo Boo dates, the Adventure Park will host “Glow-Zipping,” along with the chance to experience the Climbing Wall, for a flat fee of just $12 per person. A special glow stick is included with the Zip. The Adventure Park will be open for regular hours (with all three features – the Zip Line, Climbing Tower, and Ropes Challenge Course – available to guests) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Zoo Boo Friday nights (Oct 9th, 16th, & 23rd) and from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Zoo Boo Saturdays (Oct 10th, 17th, and 24th). The Adventure Park will be open for regular hours on all other October weekend dates.

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is pleased to announce the hosting of our annual public pumpkin carving and decorating event:
The Happy Joe’s Pumpkin Carving Event
(a.k.a. “Bring your own pumpkins for pizza!”)
This event will be held on Wednesday, October 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Pre-registration is requested for the event, but walk-ins will also be accepted on the night of the event. Guests can come and go anytime between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. To register, call the Volunteer Coordinator at 920-662-2405 or email the Volunteer Coordinator.
The pumpkin-carving and decorating even is FREE and open to the public. Just bring your own pumpkins and pumpkin-carving tools and prepare to create a pumpkin masterpiece! Participants can feel free to let their creativity show – pumpkins can be carved, painted, sculpted – any type of decoration is fair game! The event will take place at the Pines Shelter, off the north end of the NEW Zoo’s main parking lot. If you are unable to bring your own pumpkins, you are still welcome to attend. Each year, the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park does receive some donations of pumpkins that can be carved by guests during the event.
Event sponsor Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream will provide FREE PIZZA and the zoo will provide SODA to everyone who participates in the event. Groups, such as scout groups, church service groups, as well as families and friends are all welcome and encouraged to attend. Of course, individuals can attend as well!
All pumpkins decorated during the event will be used to decorate the zoo in preparation for our largest fundraising event of the year: North Shore Bank Zoo Boo 2015, held on October 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd, and 24th. Zoo supporters are also welcome to drop off any pumpkins carved off-site ANYTIME during regular business hours on weekdays during October, starting October 8th. The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is continually in need of “fresh” pumpkins throughout the month of October to replace rotting pumpkins and decorate the facility.
