The NEW Zoo aims to be a touchless and safe experience:

  • The Zoo’s current hours (through end of October) are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily
  • Capacity is limited and tickets are sold for specific time slots to allow for safe social distancing
  • We request you purchase tickets online in advance.  Please have your ticket barcodes up on your phone, or pre-printed and out, prior to entering the zoo admissions line
  • Zoo Members (and the guests included on your membership) do not need to pre-reserve your time of arrival and may visit as normal.  Please have your membership card up on your phone and your ID ready when you enter the line
  • As we get into fall, Zoo entry and exit may change daily.  During busy days, we may have Zoo entry through gate Z2, located just north (left) of the Visitor Center/Gift Shop; and exit through the Visitor Center/Gift Shop, Z2 or through gate Z1 (to the south) of the building. On weekdays, and poor weather days, entry and exit will occur through the gift shop
  • Goat, alpaca and sheep feeding is limited and may not be available daily due to staffing shortages and AZA safety requirements, please call ahead to see if it is available the day you plan to visit
  • The Giraffe Feeding Experience, mining sluice, hurricane simulator, and photo booth are temporarily closed
  • The Endangered Species Carousel and Dahlin Express Safari Train will be operating on a very limited basis with cleaning between riders.  Please check with the Visitor’s Center/Gift Shop at 920-434-7841 to find out if they are running on the day you visit and what hours they will be available
  • Strollers are not available to rent; please bring your own
  • Push wheelchairs are available for check out.  Please stop by the Visitor Center/Gift Shop for more information.  They will be cleaned between guests
  • For fall, the Mayan Restaurant may not be open everyday during the week, please call in advance
    • During busy times, the outdoor, walk-up window should be available for food and beverage purchases
    • Outdoor seating is available and cleaned regularly
    • Beverage machines are available throughout the zoo
    • Grab-and-go snacks are available at the Visitor Center/Gift Ship, and when open, the Ticket Booth and in the Children’s Zoo Concession Stand
  • Some playgrounds and discovery tunnels are temporarily closed
  • The Aviary and Children’s Zoo Barn pathways are one-way; please follow directional signage
  • Some bathrooms are closed; please watch for signs

To keep you safe:

  • Zoo staff, volunteers, and interns are wearing face coverings and/or are stationed behind plexi-glass barriers for your and their safety
  • Social distancing signs and ground markings are located throughout the zoo
  • Hand sanitizing stations are strategically located throughout the zoo
  • Bathrooms, the Gift Shop, and other high-touch areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly throughout the day
  • Zoo maps have been placed throughout the zoo.  Paper zoo maps are no longer available to hand out
  • If you are not feeling well, we ask that you do not visit the Zoo until you feel better
  • We encourage guests to follow the State of Wisconsin Emergency Order and wear face coverings inside buildings and when unable to socially distance for your safety, as well as for the safety of our staff and animals.  You will see signs when you enter buildings as a reminder to wear a face covering

To keep our animals safe:

  • Our Summer VIP Experiences, like otter and penguin feedings, exhibit chats, animal presentations, and lion training programs, etc. are temporarily suspended
  • Our Animal Care team members have increased bio-security protocols and will be seen in more PPE than prior to Covid-19. To protect our animals, zookeepers will be avoiding interactions with guests
