Happy Joe’s Pumpkin Carving Event October 7th

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is pleased to announce the hosting of our annual public pumpkin carving and decorating event:

The Happy Joe’s Pumpkin Carving Event
(a.k.a. “Bring your own pumpkins for pizza!”)

This event will be held on Wednesday, October 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Pre-registration is requested for the event, but walk-ins will also be accepted on the night of the event. Guests can come and go anytime between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. To register, call the Volunteer Coordinator at 920-662-2405 or email the Volunteer Coordinator.

The pumpkin-carving and decorating even is FREE and open to the public. Just bring your own pumpkins and pumpkin-carving tools and prepare to create a pumpkin masterpiece! Participants can feel free to let their creativity show – pumpkins can be carved, painted, sculpted – any type of decoration is fair game! The event will take place at the Pines Shelter, off the north end of the NEW Zoo’s main parking lot. If you are unable to bring your own pumpkins, you are still welcome to attend. Each year, the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park does receive some donations of pumpkins that can be carved by guests during the event.

Event sponsor Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream will provide FREE PIZZA and the zoo will provide SODA to everyone who participates in the event. Groups, such as scout groups, church service groups, as well as families and friends are all welcome and encouraged to attend. Of course, individuals can attend as well!

All pumpkins decorated during the event will be used to decorate the zoo in preparation for our largest fundraising event of the year: North Shore Bank Zoo Boo 2015, held on October 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd, and 24th. Zoo supporters are also welcome to drop off any pumpkins carved off-site ANYTIME during regular business hours on weekdays during October, starting October 8th. The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is continually in need of “fresh” pumpkins throughout the month of October to replace rotting pumpkins and decorate the facility.

For more information, or to register, call the Volunteer Coordinator at 920-662-2405 or email volunteer@newzoo.org.
