Happy Joe’s Pizza Pumpkin Carving Event 2016

Don’t miss our annual Public Pumpkin Carving Event, sponsored by Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream!

This event will be held on Wednesday, October 12th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This pumpkin-carving and decorating event is FREE and open to the public.  Just bring your own pumpkins and pumpkin-carving tools and prepare to create a pumpkin masterpiece!  Pumpkins can be carved, painted, sculpted – any type of decoration is fair game!  The event takes place at the Pines Shelter, off the north end of the NEW Zoo’s main parking lot.  If you are unable to bring your own pumpkins, you are still welcome to attend.  Each year, the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park does receive some donations of pumpkins that can be carved by guests during the event.

Event sponsor Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream will provide FREE PIZZA and the zoo will provide free SODA to everyone who participates in the event.  Groups such as scout groups and church service groups, along with families and friends are all welcome and encouraged to attend.  Of course, individuals can attend as well!

All pumpkins carved during the event will be used to decorate the zoo in preparation for our largest fundraising event of the year:  North Shore Bank Zoo Boo 2016, held on October 14th, 15th, 21st, 22nd, 28th, and 29th. Zoo supporters are also welcome to donate and drop-off pumpkins carved off-site ANYTIME during regular business hours on weekdays during October, starting October 13th.  The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is continually in need of “fresh” pumpkins throughout the month of October to replace rotting pumpkins and decorate the facility.

Pre-registration is requested for the event, but walk-ins will also be accepted on the night of the event. Guests can come and go anytime between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 p.m.  For more information, or to register, email the Volunteer Coordinator or visit our online sign-up page to register.
