The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park, along with the Green Bay Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK), invite you to join us for International Red Panda Day on Saturday, September 18th, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. This event is FREE with regular Zoo admission. According to the Red Panda Network, as few as 2,500 red pandas remain in the wild. That means this endangered species needs our help now, more than ever.
During our International Red Panda Day event, visitors can learn more about red pandas at an educational booth near the NEW Zoo’s red panda habitat. There will also be fun children’s activities. Guests can watch a red panda training demonstration around 10:00 a.m., and a red panda feeding will take place at 2:30 p.m.
In addition to the event’s educational activities, there will also be animal-themed crafts for sale – all handmade by members of the Green Bay Chapter of AAZK! The crafts, of course, include some special red panda themed items, along with paintings made by one of the Zoo’s very own red pandas! All proceeds raised at the sales table will benefit the Red Panda Network.
Red Panda Network is a non-profit organization that is committed to the conservation of wild red pandas and their habitat. Through community-based research, outreach, and education programs, Red Panda Network has reached significant milestones in Nepal. Learn more about them at redpandanetwork.org.
