The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park and the Green Bay chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) invite you to join us for International Red Panda Day on Saturday, September 15th, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Red pandas are classified as an endangered species and it is estimated that there may be as few as 2,500 remaining in the wild. Wild red pandas need our help more now than ever. During our Red Panda Day event, visitors can learn more about red pandas at an educational booth near the red panda exhibit in the zoo. There will also be children’s activities and the opportunity to become a certified Red Panda Ranger with the Red Panda Network.
In addition to the educational information and activities, there will also be animal-themed crafts for sale to raise funds for the Red Panda Network. All of the crafts were made by members of the Green Bay Chapter of AAZK, and they include some special red-panda-inspired items.
Red Panda Network is a non-profit organization that is committed to the conservation of wild red pandas and their habitat. Through community-based research, outreach, and education programs, Red Panda Network has reached significant milestones in Nepal. Learn more about them at https://www.redpandanetwork.org. Green Bay AAZK is also sponsoring a painting fundraiser supporting Red Panda Network on Thursday, September 27th from 6 p.m until 9 p.m. at The Woods Golf Course. The cost to attend is $45, with 35% of every registration going towards red panda conservation. No experience needed!
