New in 2016!

This fun, hands-on activity is perfect for children and families (and grown-ups, too!).  Bags of Mining Rough can be purchased at the Paws & Claws Gift Shop and brought outside to the Sluice.  Simply pour the bag of Rough into the sluice tray of your choice, then watch as the waters rinse away the sand and debris to reveal special treasures!  Every bag is guaranteed to hold a fun treasure – including at least 1 coin for the Conservation Voting Station located in our Education &  Conservation Center.  Click the photos below to take a closer look.  The Mining Sluice will be operational only when weather permits.
