Winter Hours of Operation
It’s hard to believe that winter is coming with all this unseasonably warm weather, but November is almost here! The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park will return to Winter Hours of Operation starting on Friday, November 1st. Both the Zoo and the Neil Anderson Canopy Tour will be open daily (including on holidays!) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the final tour for the Canopy Tour departing daily at 3:30 p.m. The Adventure Park’s Ropes Course, Ziplines, Climbing Wall, and Kids Kourse will be closed for the season, but groups can schedule private experiences through advanced reservations. Fat tire bikes are also available to rent through the Adventure Park’s Base Camp Building, with ski and snowshoe rentals coming as soon as conditions allow.
There’s plenty of things to do during a wintertime zoo visit: Penguin Feeding Experiences are available every Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and Otter Feeding Experiences occur every Saturday through Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. The popular Snow Leopard Den Tours are also available every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. They provide an inside look at the Lee & Kathy Anderson Snow Leopard Den and allow guests to learn more about how we take care of our leopards, Bodhi and Ahava. Tickets for all three experiences are available online or at the door when not sold out in advance. For guests wanting to spend some time with Zuri, Nigel, and Eddie, Giraffe Feeding Experiences are available most days from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and/or from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with the schedule for each day posted in the Zoo’s main entrance building.
If you’re looking to add a little something extra to your visit, consider booking a Wild Encounter with our Education Team, to get up close and personal with a wide variety of critters. Wild Encounters area available for groups of all sizes and people of all ages. To learn more about these programs or to make a reservation, visit newzoo.org.
