The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park and Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets are excited to host the fifth annual Kids’ Animal Poetry Contest this August and September. Zoos have been inspiring visitors for centuries with the majestic presence of animals and the opportunity to learn more about them and their habitats. We love to see that inspiration sparked in young writers!

Kids aged 5 to 7 and 8 to 10 are invited to write an animal poem about any animal in the zoo. The winning author in each age category will receive $25 and a specially designed picture poem for display. The winning poems will also be shared on NEW Zoo social media pages.

• Include name, address, phone number, age of young poet and email address of poet’s guardian
• Winner will be announced no later than Tuesday, October 1, 2024
