As the summer comes to a close, we’re reminding you that there’s still plenty to do at the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park. Starting this Saturday, Snow Leopard Den Tours will be available at 10:30am on select dates! These tours will take guests behind-the-scenes, into the Lee & Kathy Anderson Snow Leopard Den to get an inside look at how we care for Bodhi and Ahava and to learn more about our cats. Tours will take place daily from August 31^st through September 5^th, then take place every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout the fall. Tickets are $80 for a small group of up to six people, and Zoo Members will receive a discount that applies automatically to shopping carts when members are logged into the electronic payment system. The NEW Zoo, the Neil Anderson Canopy Tour, and the Adventure Park will all be open for regular hours all holiday weekend long, including on Monday, September 2^nd for Labor Day. While you are here, stop at the Riley Building (by the moose habitat) to see our newest resident: a female Blanding’s turtle! Blanding’s turtles are a threatened species in the state of Wisconsin, and her move to the NEW Zoo was recommended by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums’ SAFE: Saving Animals from Extinction American Turtle program plan. This adult female is unnamed – but keep an eye on our social media pages for an opportunity to get involved in naming her soon!

Starting Tuesday, September 3^rd, the Adventure Park will move to its Fall Hours of Operation. This means that the Adventure Park’s general tours (Ropes Course, Climbing Wall, and Zip Lines) will be available starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays only, but groups can pre-schedule private programs on weekdays and weekends. The NEW Zoo and the Canopy Tour will remain open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the Canopy Tour’s final tour departing daily at 5:30 p.m. Penguin Feeding Experiences will remain available daily at 12:30 p.m. through the end of October, and Otter Feeding Experiences will be available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (and on Labor Day Monday!) at 12:00 p.m. Tickets for both experiences are available at newzoo.org.
